Introduction

Trek Grade: Easy

Quite a household name for trekkers from around the world, Ghorepani Poonhill trek would be a perfect starter for new trekkers of the Annapurna region. Although spring is considered the best season for this trek when rhododendrons in their full bloom would decorate the trail like a new bride, this trek is equally gratifying during autumn for its unmatched mountain views accessible within shorter days off Pokhara.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek forms a loop in the lower part of the Annapurna Range. Its chief highlight is the summit viewpoint of Poon Hill from where we are able to enjoy panoramic views of the famous Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, III, and IV, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, Gangapurna, Machhapuchhre and Manaslu in a single go.

The trail is not less than interesting as it travels through rhododendron forest, terraced slopes, paddy fields and lush vegetation coupled with the warm welcome from the local Gurung and Magar villages.
